I usually like multiplayer games - those are the ones that keep me "hooked" most often.

But I have played one game, Rome: Total War, I bit longer than usual for a game.

Description:

Rome: Total War (out now), the next generation in epic strategy gaming from the critically acclaimed and award winning Total War brand. The aim of the game is to conquer, rule and manipulate the Roman Empire with the ultimate goal of being declared as the “Imperator” of Rome. Set in a time when the mighty Roman Empire emerged to conquer the known world against powerful enemies, when gladiators fought to a bloody death in the Coliseum; when Spartacus defied the might of the empire; when Hannibal led his invincible army and his war elephants across the Alps to strike fear into the very heart of Rome itself; and when Julius Caesar finally smashed the Barbarian Gauls. This was a time of brutal confrontation between civilization and barbarism, and of civil war as the ancient world’s only superpower turned on itself.

When I test a game, sometimes I get a pirated copy (yeah...I know it is considered "bad", but one way to think about it is that the company would never get my money if I didn't try it first).  That I did with Rome, and true to my policy I bought the game since I liked it.

It also isn't too resource-heavy.  Of course, one of our computers, about ten years old, couldn't run it.  But my fairly low-powered laptop could.

Note: I have come back for a little bit on

Yes, I really like the game Minecraft.  But I have decided to quit it for certain reasons.

First, I will list why I like it, or reasons against quitting:
  1. Many friends (well...if people you have never met can be called friends).
  2. Being OP (operator - is like a moderator) of some servers.
  3. I like multiplayer games.
  4. And I paid for it.
But here are the reasons for quitting:
  1. Additive.
  2. Time-consuming.  It got to be so that every spare moment I wanted to play the game.  This, obviously, wasn't good.
  3. I didn't get much else done.
  4. Relations in real life were strained.  If I spend much of my time with online friends who really didn't care...what would my real friends think?
  5. My eyes.  It isn't good to look at a computer screen to often.
  6. Thoughts.  If I was continuously thinking about this instead of worthwhile things....  And I knew I was "in trouble" when I started thinking "LOL" when something funny happened in real life.
  7. Programming.  I want to continue to teach myself to program, but I can't if I'm always playing a game.
So that is why I'm quitting.

Now you may ask why I couldn't just try and strictly limit myself?  To really work with something this magnetic, I have to totally eliminate it from my life.

Of course, I'll still be around here.

The Archives is a custom Minecraft server.  That means that they have some special addons, like each person can have their own world.

If you play Minecraft, I suggest you check it out.
